Spectrum News 1 spotlighted Housing Onward Wisconsin’s new Community Housing Academy, highlighting the seven-week program’s goal of bringing residents, policymakers, builders, developers, and housing advocates together to better understand Milwaukee’s housing challenges and identify solutions.
Housing Academy facilitator Montavius Jones was interviewed for the story, emphasizing the importance of bringing people who shape housing decisions into the same room with community advocates and helping participants understand the complex laws, codes, regulations, and processes that influence what gets built. The story also noted that the inaugural Milwaukee Academy is already full, with plans to bring the program to additional communities across Wisconsin.
